What is the difference between an LPC Associate, LPC, and LPC Supervisor?+

In Texas, an LPC Associate is a licensed counselor who has completed the required graduate education and exams and provides therapy under a board-approved supervisor while completing supervised clinical experience. An LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) has completed that supervised experience and may practice independently. An LPC Supervisor (LPC-S) is an experienced LPC with additional supervision training and board approval to guide LPC Associates. At Growth Counseling, our LPC Associates are supervised by Brenda Rueda, LPC-S. Each therapist brings their own areas of focus, and we can help you find someone who fits your needs.

How do I know if therapy is for me?+

You don’t need to be in crisis to explore therapy. You might be looking for support with difficult feelings, relationship challenges, life changes, or patterns you’d like to understand better. Therapy can also be a space for self-discovery and personal growth. If you’re unsure where to start, our complimentary 15-minute consultation gives you a chance to share what’s on your mind and ask questions.

Do you offer in-person appointments?+

Growth Counseling offers hybrid sessions with in-person care at 11680 Montana, Suite 215B, El Paso, TX 79936. Telehealth sessions are available throughout Texas.

What happens if the connection drops during an online session?+

Connectivity problems are a possibility with virtual care. If a video connection is interrupted, the session may continue by telephone when appropriate.

What can I expect during my first session?+

Your first session is a chance for you and your therapist to get to know each other. You’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’d like support with, and any goals you have. Your therapist may ask about your background and current concerns, explain confidentiality and its limits, and make space for your questions. You don’t need to have everything prepared or share everything at once. Together, you’ll begin exploring a plan that feels right for you.

How do I know if this is the right fit?+

The complimentary 15-minute consultation is a chance to ask questions and see how the practice feels. A strong therapeutic relationship should feel safe, comfortable, and respectful.
